Chinese Arctic and Antarctic Administration (CAA)



The Chinese Arctic and Antarctic Administration (CAA) is the main Chinese research institute for the study of the Earth's polar regions. It is based in Shanghai, Chinese Empire. Established in 1937, it organizes China's scientific program for both the Arctic and Antarctic, and it provides logistic support to the corresponding expeditions. There are several divisions, including General Affairs, Operation & Logistics, Science Programs, International Cooperation, representation in the Chinese Embassy in South Africa, and a Winter Training Base. The director is Qu Tanzhou.
