Black Sea Fleet
-- Operation Inertsiya (Momentum): OG Nika under S. Gorshkov (6th Cruiser Squadron and part of 1st Guardship Flotilla) conducts port call to Piraeus, Heraklion, and Limassol. Most of exercise took place prior to beginning of the year; ships return to Sevastopol after 84 days at sea.
-- Exercise Moisey (Moses): Light cruiser Admiral Bezobrazov and torpedo cruiser Ekaterineberg transit Suez Canal to visit Djibouti and Muscat, returning by March 25th with 46 days at sea.
-- Exercise Gideon-1, Gideon-2: OG Pluton under F. Oktyabrsky conducts sea training in two 14-day sessions in February and March. Gideon-1 practices an offensive operation to reinforce Atlantean forces defending the Dardanelles. Exercise Gideon-2 practices a defensive operation to defend Russian territory against an opponent attacking the Russian Black Sea coastline. Exercise includes four battleships, three light cruisers, five torpedo cruisers, twelve destroyers, twenty submarines, eighty MTBs, and seven hundred aircraft flying a total of 5,742 sorties.

Northern Fleet
-- Operation Kassiopeya: OG Jove under G. Levchenko (1st Aviation Ship Squadron, 8th Cruiser Squadron, and 6th Destroyer Flotilla) sail to visit Tangier, Dakar, Aufidus, and the Gulf of Paria, crossing the equator for one day. Operations Group remains at sea at the end of the quarter. (Exercise replaces Exercise Rubin-1 in the yearly training syllabus.) Carriers sail with doubled pilot billets on all ships.
-- All icebreakers active around White Sea and Arctic Ocean ports.
-- Guardship Mikula Selyaninovich and Sadko on patrol in Norweigian and Barents Seas, taking weather readings and oceanographic observations near the edge of the polar icepack.

Pacific Fleet
-- Exercise Keniya: OG Tserera under Admiral I. Yumashev conducts winter fleet cruise, departing Vladivostok February 12th, transiting Sea of Japan, East China Sea, and Philippine Sea prior to returning to Vladivostok, with 41 days at sea.
-- Operation Bengaliya: Destroyer Obraztsovy returns from Yellow Sea (off Qingdao) observing maritime traffic for intelligence-gathering purposes; operation continues from previous year. Ship returns to Vladivostok January 12th, with total 74 days at sea. Operation ended.
-- Operation Gudzharat: Destroyer Ozornoi returns from East China Sea (off Shanghai) observing maritime traffic for intelligence-gathering purposes; operation continues from previous year. Ship returns to Vladivostok January 10th, with 68 days at sea. Operation ended.

Other
-- Sail training ship Nadezhda cruises in the East Coast of Africa, making port calls at Zanzibar and Djibouti, and transiting the Suez Canal before returning to Sevastopol.
-- Seaplane tender / experimental vessel Zenit remains in Brest, France, for collaborative weapons development project. Deployment announced to continue until Q2/1948.
