M48 Medium Tank “Kurjak”



Posted here for peer review. Prototype expected to appear in spring of 1948, with production commencing sometime in 1949.

Graduated target position indicator ring inside cupola for commander. Turret position indicator with two dials for gunner

Running gear per side – one final drive wheel, one idler wheel. Three bogies with six roadwheels on quarter-elliptic springs; five return rollers.

Looking at other tanks within the 37-39 tonnes ballpark the design seems reasonable.
I guess Yugoslavia would now be looking to a 90mm gun to counter the heavy tanks the Italians possess.
