Agriculture

Agricola Hoja Redonda S.A. – founded in 1937, undertaking the growing of fruit, nut, beverage and spice crops for the export market. Processing facility located in San Isidro, Lima.

Agroindustrias San Jacinto S.A. – founded in 1932 and is engaged in the cultivation and processing of sugarcane and the marketing of products of its core business, such as sugar (white, refined and blonde), alcohols, molasses, bagasse fiber. The company is located in the valley of Nepena.

Compañia Agraria Azucarera Andahuasi S.A. – founded 1923, specializes in the cultivation and processing of sugarcane and fruit, such as apples, papayas, pineapples and others. It commercializes and exports such products as sugar, molasses, bagasse, alcohol, liquors and others sugar derivatives. In addition the company is involved in livestock farming.

Compañía Agroindustrial Casagrande S.A. – founded in 1940 to undertake the cultivation, processing, and marketing of agricultural products, specializing in products derived from sugar cane, including sugar, alcohol, molasses and bagasse.

Compañía Agroindustrial Pomalca S.e.C. – founded in 1941, in Chiclayo. The company has more than 15,000 hectares in sugar cane for production of sugar, molasses, and bagasse, in addition to other agricultural exports from its factory in coastal Lambayeque region.

Cementos Lima S.A – founded 1934 to operate a cement works at Atocongo, Lima Department. Annual capacity 400,000 tonnes.

Cementos Norte Pacasmayo S.A – founded 1939 to operate a cement works in the city of Pacasmayo in northwestern Peru. Annual capacity 300,000 tonnes.

Cementos Sur S.A. – founded 1928 to operate a cement works in the city of Arequipa. Annual capacity 200,000 tonnes.

Fábrica Peruana Eternit S.A. – founded in 1940 in Lima with Belgian participation to manufacture roofing tiles, cement water pipes, and cement block.

Cervecería Backus y Johnston S.A. – founded in 1879 by the Americans Jacob Backus and John Howard Johnston in the Rímac District in Lima. Operates brewery and bottling plants in the Ate District of Lima, the Motupe district of Chiclayo, and in Cuzco. Noted for the Cristal, Cusqueña, and Barena brands of beer.

Cervecería del sur del Peru S.e.C – founded in 1912. Operates a brewery and bottling plant in Sacha near Arequipa. Noted for the Arequipeña brand of beer.

Compañía Nacional de Cerveza S.A – founded in 1863 in Callao. Operates a brewery and bottling plant there. Noted for the Pilsen Callao brand of beer.

Compañia Industrial Peru Pacifico S.A – founded 1946 as an oil and soap manufacturer in the port of Callao.

Dulcería Castañeda S.A. – founded in 1925 in the city of Trujillo to manufacture candy and confectionary items. A second factory was constructed in Lima in 1939.

Dulcería D'Onofrio S.e.C. – founded in 1859 by Pietro D'Onofrio in the city of Lima to undertake the manufacture of gelato, Italian-style ice cream. Subsequently expanded into the manufacture of other confectionary items and milk products.

Dulcería La Iberica S.A. – founded in 1909 in the city of Arequipa to manufacture candy and confectionary items. Operates nationally through a chain of its stores in all major cities.

Enrique Cassinelli e Hermanos S.A. – founded in 1910 in Trujillo by Don Enrique Cassinelli Chiappe and four of his brothers. Manufactures, bottles, and distributes soft drinks and fruit juices in the La Libertad Region.

Fábrica de Leche Gloria S.A. – founded in February 1941 in the city of Lima to undertake the manufacture and distribution of evaporated milk and other dairy products. A second plant in the city of Arequipa was opened in 1944.

Industrial Pesquera Santa Monica S.A. – founded in 1922 to foster the national fishing industry. Operates shore installations in several major ports and a fleet of thirty-six deep sea fishing trawlers. Markets canned fish products and fish oil.

José R. Lindley e Hijos S.A. – founded in 1928 to carry on the business of the Santa Rosa Soda Water Factory. In 1935, it launched the Inca Kola brand to mark the fourth centenary of the founding of the city of Lima. In 1945 it expanded its distribution and marketing of Inca Kola nationwide.

Sociedad Cervecera de Trujillo S.A – founded in 1920 in the city of Trujillo. Operates a modern brewery and bottling plant in that city. Noted for the Libertad brand of beer.

Compañía de Productos Electro-Mecánicos S.A – founded in 1943 to produce copper wire, small electric motors for machine tools, and smaller industrial plant equipment. Factory is located in Callao.

Fabrica de Vidrios la Hacienda SA – founded in 1924 to undertake the manufacture of glass bottles for the beverage trade and other glass containers (jars, glasses, cups, pots, etc.). Operates plants in Lima and in Pisco.

Industria de Estampados Metalicos S.A. – founded in 1945, in Lima, and is engaged in metal forging, pressing, stamping, and roll forming.

Maestranza Metalmecanica S.e.C. – founded 1943 in the city if Ica to undertake the manufacture of agricultural and forestry implements and equipment.

Sociedad de Papel y Cartón Paramonga S.A. – organized in 1927 by the American firm W.R. Grace and Company, which retains a substantial interest in it. Operates a paper plant in the Paramonga District, Lima, producing writing, wrapping, and sanitary papers as well as fiber carton for the export of fruit.

Compañía Industrial Manufacturas del Centro S.A. – established in 1944 in the city of Huancayo to undertake the large scale spinning, weaving, and processing of cotton, wool, and alpaca fabric for the domestic and export market under the brand-name ‘Huancatex’.

Compañía Textil Borelly y Fournier S.A. – founded in 1916 in Lima. Spinning and weaving of cotton using both domestic and imported source materials.

Fábrica de Sombreros Apollo S.A. – founded in 1922. Manufactures men’s and women’s hats. Has factories in Lima and in Callao.

Fábrica de Textil La Victoria S.e.C. – founded in 1928, in Lima. Spinning and weaving of cotton, primarily shirtings.

Fábrica de Textil Santa Catalina S.e.C. – founded in 1925, in Lima. Processes cotton and manufactures finished garments and other cotton goods.

Incalpaca Textiles Peruanos De Exportacion S.A. – founded in 1943, in Lima, to manufacture high quality alpaca cloths and clothing.

Industria Textil Piura S.A. – founded in 1915 to manufacture and market Peruvian pima cotton yarns and spun goods at its factory in Piura.

Mitchell y Compañia – founded in 1930 as an exporter of alpaca fiber; in 1942 opened its first spinning and weaving factory for alpaca and wool. Presently manufactures complete garments, carpets, and rugs in addition to yarns for export.

Sociedad ‘San Jacinto’ – Fábrica de Textil S.A. – founded in 1932. Spins and weaves jute fibers for bagging and industrial applications.
