Peruvian Biru class Coastal Freighter/Supply Ship

One of the gaps in the Peruvian encyclopedia is that of the subject class of vessel. The Rock Doctor has advised that he envisioned a vessel of 2,400 tons light displacement, based upon the 600 tons allocated for its conversion (i.e. a 25% job). I've developed the following Springsharp to those limitations and invite your thoughts on the design before making it 'canon'.

BTW - Brock, this design has been modified from our previous discussion

Biru, Peruvian Coastal Freighter laid down 1943

Displacement: 2,400 t light; 2,496 t standard; 4,530 t normal; 6,157 t full load

Dimensions: Length overall / water x beam x draught

282.25 ft / 269.03 ft x 45.93 ft x 23.62 ft (normal load) [86.03 m / 82.00 m x 14.00 m x 7.20 m]

Armament:

1 - 4.13" / 105 mm guns in single mounts, 35.32lbs / 16.02kg shells, 1943 Model Dual purpose gun in deck mount on centreline forward, 1 raised gun
4 - 0.79" / 20.0 mm guns (2x2 guns), 0.24lbs / 0.11kg shells, 1943 Model Anti-aircraft guns in deck mounts on side, all aft, all raised mounts - superfiring
Weight of broadside 36 lbs / 16 kg
Shells per gun, main battery: 250

Machinery:

Diesel Internal combustion motors, Geared drive, 1 shaft, 1,644 shp / 1,226 Kw = 12.00 kts
Range 76,750nm at 10.00 kts
Bunker at max displacement = 3,662 tons

Complement: 275 - 358

Cost: £0.614 million / $2.455 million

Distribution of weights at normal displacement:

Armament: 5 tons, 0.1 %
Machinery: 42 tons, 0.9 %
Hull, fittings & equipment: 1,353 tons, 29.9 %
Fuel, ammunition & stores: 2,130 tons, 47.0 %
Miscellaneous weights: 1,000 tons, 22.1 %

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:

Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship): 15,254 lbs / 6,919 Kg = 431.9 x 4.1 " / 105 mm shells or 4.4 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.10
Metacentric height 1.9 ft / 0.6 m
Roll period: 14.1 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 62 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.02
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 2.00

Hull form characteristics:

Hull has raised forecastle
Block coefficient: 0.543
Length to Beam Ratio: 5.86 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 16.40 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 34 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 31
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 25.00 degrees
Stern overhang: 3.28 ft / 1.00 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
- Stem: 21.33 ft / 6.50 m
- Forecastle (10 %): 21.33 ft / 6.50 m (14.76 ft / 4.50 m aft of break)
- Mid (30 %): 14.76 ft / 4.50 m
- Quarterdeck (30 %): 21.33 ft / 6.50 m
- Stern: 21.33 ft / 6.50 m
- Average freeboard: 18.70 ft / 5.70 m

Ship space, strength and comments:

Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 29.4 %
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 97.5 %
Waterplane Area: 8,300 Square feet or 771 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 404 %
Structure weight / hull surface area: 80 lbs/sq ft or 388 Kg/sq metre
Hull strength (Relative):
- Cross-sectional: 1.10
- Longitudinal: 7.57
- Overall: 1.33
Hull space for machinery, storage, compartmentation is excellent
Room for accommodation and workspaces is adequate
Excellent seaboat, comfortable, can fire her guns in the heaviest weather

Low-stowed cargo simmed as additional bunkers. Normal radius 7,500 nm at 10 knots, bunkers of 219 tons. Remaining bunkers - ~1,800 tons - cargo

Breakdown of Miscellaneous weight:

Cargo handling gear - 150 tons
Anticipated deck cargo - 850 tons

Looks ok to me.
