Peruvian Pimental class Gunboat-Transport

These vessels are intended as fast reaction transports and not amphibious landing ships; additional small boats are carried for local security while on station. They are expected to be useful in maintaining security in the northern regions that are without rail links to the rest of the nation.

Pimentel, Peruvian Gunboat-Transport laid down 1946

Ah, destroyer-transport - I'd thought about building some of these for Chile on the basis of the Bolados-class... I have a design stashed somewhere. The four that I have currently are getting a bit long in the tooth (meaning their teeth have fallen out and they have fakes).

More like the historical Mexican Durango class gunboats. Given Peru's large north-south distances, poor rail net, and even poorer road net, they will be quite useful.

Looks very useful.
