Colombian heavy cruisers

Slightly behind but never the less......

Colombia as planned has laid down 2 heavy cruisers (delayed a year as predicted). Heavy Atlantean assistance allows them to both be built locally in order to give shipyards the expertise needed to build more if needed. It is essentially an Atlantean design build to Colombian specifications. Atlantis will likely build a single modified version of their own to test new equipment.

Looks good to me. Seems a reasonably strong cruiser on that tonnage.
Nice drawing too.

I tried a single funnel appearance too and I couldn't seem to stomach it, even when I needed the space when I kit bashed the hull with a 4th turret or 2nd centerline secondary forward.

Yeah, that is one classical cruiser. Rarely seen lately. I like her design a lot. Good blend of speed, protection and good firepower, both surface-to-surface and surface-to-air. Those torpedos may turn out more of a hazard than a plus but without experience like IJN in historical WW2 you would not know.

Well done.

Got this one wrong, I think - aren't these supposed to be the rear-facing secondaries?

Yup, nice catch, thanks for that. Fixing it shouldn't effect the sim to much. I also just noticed that I had the originally envisioned 2x5 21" torpedo launchers in the picture.
