Jyllands-Posten April 17th 1924

With only a few days to go before the election, it is looking increasingly grim for the continuation of the present governmentof Prime minister Niels Thomasius Neergaard, as the pools currently have them trailing the Social Democrats of Carl Theodor Zahle by almost 5 points in the latest opinion polls.

The Shipyard Workers Union has called for people to vote for the government as they believe that the S.D. party's stated intention to suspend all naval building would dramatically effect their member's jobs.

In other political news, the Minister for Defence, Ditlev Gothard Monrad, signed contracts with several civilian construction firms for work on the countries shipyards and coastal defences, to extend slips in the yards and the improve the existing defences.
