Infantry Carriers


VUC
Carrying on from a long association of licence-building Vickers designs, in 1942 Familleureux obtained a licence to produce the Universal Carrier No.1 Mk IV. It has capacity for six infantry and is armed with two LMGs and is fitted with radio equipment. It has rear hull attachments for cable drums and can tow trailers and light anti-tank and anti-aircraft guns. An 8.1cm mortar can be fitted inside the hull to operate as a self-propelled mortar carrier.

VUC-2
In early 1945, Familleureux obtained a licence to produce the Carrier Tracked No.2 Mk I Oxford. Developed in Britain by the Armoured Vehicle Research and Development Establishment, it has the same suspension of the VUC but with a new hull a with double-plate floor for increased mine protection, new front hull with periscopes for the driver and commander, automatic transmission with controlled differential steering and armoured plates protecting the upper track section. Four to six infantry can be carried and it can tow anti-tank guns and light field artillery. A dedicated command version with long-range radios is also produced as the VUC-2C.
