Report of the Hungarian Military Attaché, Belgrade, Wednesday, 11 October 1944

"Deliveries of motor vehicles to the Royal Yugoslav Army is proceeding at an accelerated pace, not only from domestic factories but from abroad. The majority of the newly delivered vehicles appear to be issued to units deployed on the Italian frontier in Dalmatia. The final quantity of tanks has been delivered to the Third Armoured Brigade and training of that formation is proceeding rapidly. Sources report that a test mobilisation of the territorial militia is projected for this winter. Yugoslav arsenals are heavily involved in converting to production of the new M43 semi-automatic service rifle but a changeover to the new weapon will take years."
