Made a couple of format changes, and added more descriptive type descriptions...

Nice looking list. Perhaps I should do something similar to classify Japan's naval ships.

No, I won't. :-D

It would be interesting to see the Japanese names for all the classifications. ;)

Made one slight tweak, to the definition of an Escort Cruiser...

Japanese would be quite a challenge, though the exact names are probably somewhere on the Net and I have a few dictionaries at home. I think I could make something out of it in Japlish without my dictionaries.

Nice work swampy!

Swampy, are any of your ships former U.S. ships or are they extra ships built by the U.S. specifically for the Phillipines? if they are former U.S. ships I will have to see if the U.S. fleet needs to be modified to incorperate this.

The only U.S. ships in my fleet are the two Luzon-class ACs, which were "extra ships", built to a modified California-class design. So I don't think any US mods should be necessary.

Now, if I had planned this fleet from the start, I'd have probably grabbed those two BBs that in OTL went to Greece...c'est la vie!

Ships no longer in service with the Marina de Filipinas:

1905: D-1-class destroyers

PRS Solitario (D-1) - sold to Rumania 12 June 1924
PRS Avestruz (D-2) - sold to Rumania 12 June 1924
PRS D-3 - scrapped
PRS D-4 - scrapped
PRS D-5 - scrapped
PRS D-6 - scrapped
PRS D-7 - scrapped
PRS D-8 - scrapped
PRS D-9 - sunk

Length, 238 ft x Beam, 29.0 ft x Depth, 12.0 ft
1302 tons normal displacement (1138 tons standard)

Main battery: 2 x 4.00-inch / 102mm
Secondary battery: 4 x 1.57-inch / 40mm
QF battery: 3 x 0.98-inch / 25mm

Weight of broadside: 73 lbs

4 TT, 18.0"

Hull unarmored
C.T., 0.5 inches

Battery armor:
Main, 1.0" shields / secondary, 0.5" shields
QF, 0.2" shields

Maximum speed for 27163 shp = 29.00 knots
Approximate cruising radius, 3500 nm / 10 kts

Typical complement: 108-141

Estimated cost, $683,000 (£171,000)

Remarks:

Caution: Hull structure is subject to strain in open-sea
conditions.

Caution: lacks seaworthiness -- very limited seakeeping ability.

Caution: Magazines and engineering spaces are very cramped,
and lack adequate watertight subdivision.

Caution: Delicate, lightwight machinery.

Ship has quick, 'lively' roll; not a steady gun platform.

Cramped ship; poor crew accommodation, limited working space.
