Prix ​​pour la haute Préparation de la flotte ("Award for High Preparation in the Fleet")
This award was instituted in 1921 to encourage a high state of training and readiness within the French Navy. The award would be given to the ship exhibiting the highest state of readiness in a number of categories, including gunnery and other weapons, engineering and maintenance, damage control, and various other metrics established by the Admiralty. Between 1921 and 1930, and then again between 1932 and 1934, the Prix was awarded to a single ship only. In 1931, and every year since 1935, a Prix was given to one ship in the Atlantic Fleet, one in the Mediterranean Fleet, and one in the Naval Forces Outre-Mer (representing the Indian Ocean Flotilla, the Pacific Fleet, and all other naval forces). Starting in 1934, a separate award was given to submarines, making the Q171 the only French submarine ever to receive this award.

The battlecruiser Dunkerque and the destroyer Oriflamme currently have won the Prix on three separate occasions.
