Atatake design before the final one

At one point I looked for some small coast Defense Battleship rather than a regular coast defense ship or a monitor or an escort cruiser. I was thinking (don't know why) of a smaller version of the Coastal Defense Battleship Fuji.
Armor-wise this version looked very impressive for its size (perhaps even too much). Immune to an AP shell fired by the Filipino Cruiser Basilian at (probably) any range.
However when I tried to draw it, It looked like a Battleship that had a horrific accident (drawing the final version, which has the same dimensions as one of the previous versions which I posted some time ago, looks already bad enough).
^_^;;
I like weird and unusual designs, but this one was just too ugly.

Yes, we're scarred veterans of dozens of ugly ships, real or not(honorable mentions for both categories are Dupuy de Lome and the Fumaha). What's another abortion to us?

With two main battery turrets and super-firing secondaries, I expect she'd have some similiarities to my Akbar...which hopefully doesn't mean that Akbar's drawing left you blind and insane.

Lay it on us; we can take it. At the worst, it might be like the Monty Python, "World's Deadliest Joke" that killed whoever read it.

Don't worry guys. I'll show you the ship...
... someday... together with the other ship drawings I have.
:-)
But first it is time for my holiday. I'll be leaving on Thursday and won't be back until September 24. During those five weeks, I won't have access to my stuff, and if all goes according to plan, I will only have access to the board during the first and last week. I won't have any computer around during the three weeks in the middle.

Quoted

With two main battery turrets and super-firing secondaries, I expect she'd have some similiarities to my Akbar

The original Atatake design I wanted to use (there was one version before that, but it was reasonably normal) had 2x2 30 cm main guns with 2x2 20cm guns superfiring the main guns. This was actually a design that was created almost a year ago, well before your Akbar design.
The original idea for the mini Coast Defense Battleship was to use the superfiring 10.5 cm guns on the centerline, but with the main guns, the superstructure and the rather short hull, there wasn't really any place for that so I decided to have all secondaries along the beam. Though I haven't changed it in the sim of the ship, I found out that it would be better to have no superfiring secondary turrets at all.
