E. Other Notes

Note that the category of frigate, and sixteen hulls allocated to it, have been deleted as no information exists about these ships.

Note that hull counts for other light units have been increased or decreased to reflect what data exists on them.

Note that the gunboat and sloop types have been merged into a single sloop category as the difference between the two was rather arbitrary. These are ocean-going escorts. There are a f**k-ton of them.

The smaller barco contra submarino type is now designated as corvette. These are coastal escorts. There are a f**k-ton of them, too.

Confianza = Reliance

Hmm, I have 109 escorts with 3 building... I wonder if they qualify as a "f**k-ton of them". The coastal escorts would be my "patrol craft category, gunned not ASW, currently 132 but most refitting, so I guess a "f**k-ton of them" too !

I would indeed assess both as "f**k-tons".

This is the reason I have not messed with Italy's MAS boats yet...
You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when soldier lads march by,
Sneak home and pray you'll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.

heh, I'm in the process of overhauling the 450+ MAS boats the Dutch have. They've been in service nearly a decade in the tropics, so they need the refit. Scheduling dock time was a ...chore...

Wait until the time comes to scrap them. :)

Actually I'm at the verge of that with the FF-1 class escorts. Like much of the Dutch fleet, they were refurbished in the 1930s for the forecast conflict with SATSUMA...and now are very old. I burned allot of time earlier this year on refit/scrapping/replacement scheduling - which is allowing me to cycle through my MAS and MW and PC vessel's refurbishments - and still have work to do. I either
"a" loose significant tonnage beach scrapping, or
"b" have to schedule docks really tightly.
Opting mainly for "b".

Running through refit plans made me realize how cumbersome the Dutch encyclopedia had become, working around the unmodifiable RAM posts- hence why I've now finished a new Capital Ships and Aircraft carrier sections for it.

Or you can ask your friendly neighborhood France to fill any of their unused drydock time with ship-scrapping endeavors. I've scrapped quite a number of ships and I have the infrastructure to get-r-done.

Actually I've been ever so tempted to use the Belgian facilities, I did that in the early 1930s, but that was part of the storyline re Dutch aid in the Belgian depression, otherwise I've tried hard to keep them separate for meta-game reasons.

I will, however, keep the French option in mind.
