Defense Regions

The Italian Republic is divided into four Defense Regions.
Northern Italy
Central Italy
Southern Italy, Sicily & Sardinia
Tripolitania & Cyrenaica

Each region has units assigned to it based on the possible threats bordering each region.

The Esercito Italiano features six types of Battalions, Infantry, Alpine, Arditi, Celeri, Armored, and Artillery. Battalions are the smallest unit that can be assigned to independent operations, and as such are the smallest units detailed here.
