I absolutely agree, but these designs seem to be taking a good thing too far, which is what I mean by my comment.

In my opinion, trying to add mission capabilities to a small hull like this causes the small crew to be pulled between too many competing directions. Each capability that's added reduces the crew's ability to handle other missions (sometimes by a slight factor, but an extant one nevertheless). Thus when it comes time to conduct the main mission, the ship's capabilities have already been compromised to a lower state. That's why, when I play smaller countries like Bulgaria and Ireland, I resist the trap of making my ships 'too multipurpose'. It's better to spend just a little bit more funds to make something that does its main job well , even if it does fewer side-jobs along the way.

Even for harbour defence those torpedoes are no use against an enemy bombardment force unless they are close inshore. In open waters a 19kts boat is easy meat, especially when you face a Chilean foe with modern radar-assisted fire-control.

Argentina attempted a fleet of fast coastal torpedo boats. During the SA War they were wiped out...

When I designed the Mehrzweckboote 1940 I had two thoughts in mind - to employ them in coastal waters in the Baltic in support of Motor Torpedo Boats, and to test whether it was possible to design in Springsharp a useful warship under 300 tons light.

For use in confined waters I think the design works, and would prove tactically useful; and I think I achieved my other goal. However, I only built a quartet of them, though in wartime the design could be revived.

Peru faces the open ocean, such a small multipurpose craft has limited usefulness in such conditions. I recognize the difficulty that a nation with small shipbuilding capacity has - just let me put on my Yugoslav hat. But if reasonably consistent choices are made, a small nation can devise a reasonable navy for its needs, even with Peru's capability.

The problem is that Peru's ambitions do not seem to match Peru's ability to produce warships domestically. As the latter are rather fixed, perhaps it is the ambitions that need to change.

I'm afraid the destroyer is not permissible in SS3 form because we've already elected to only use SS2 for all ship designs.
Generally it looks ok, a bit low on gun-power perhaps but a cheap and serviceable destroyer.

The latest 1440 ton destroyer design seems to be acceptable per our rules, though maybe on the cusp. I really think that she is over-armed with three twin mounts for 120mm guns; on a hull that size I would personally have held the armament to four single 120mm. And, FWIW, they ought to be specified as DP unless you are deliberately limiting yourself to LA guns

As a seaboat she is barely above average, and I tend to prefer more. Her bloc coefficient is knife-edge and here LB ratio extreme. I don't see her as being the best possible design on that tonnage.

Actually, I'd go with Jefgte's DD design here. His design, although block coefficient really is at the edge, perfectly fits our rules and makes full use of our hull strength rules. Accepting less is no wise decision in the face of limited resources. Also, Bruce' design has fewer main guns (with fewer shells per rifle), much weaker light AA and reduced speed - all essential for a DD, methinks. In return additional sea keeping is gained but actually does little good. The original design is not limited by heavy seas already, and I don't think one has to be obsessed by sea boat rating. Historically almost all DD designs suffered reduced performance in heavy sea. No surprise. That would translate into a sea boat rating of 0,8 to 1,00 in SS2 - but you rarely see somebody accept this in WesWorld. Anyway, it is why I think a sea boat rating just at the edge of 1,00 is perfectly fine.

My questions:
- Why a 50mm coning tower on a DD?
- SS2 does not calculate torpedos well. 2x5 TT seems a lot given the number of gun mounts you need to place on deck. Why such a heavy TT battery on a relatively small multi-purpose warship? I'd go with 1x5 TT, still enough for a powerful spread but less problems with weight and space.
- Isn't 80 tons of misc weight more than you actually need?

Deganio class is an economical type.
This is a reduction of the last Teniente Vasquez II 1942 - 1871t.

Lighter choice about speed & weight of engines
1092T for 35kts => 736t for 33kts => economie 356t.
So, I think that instal 2T2x120 is enough.
Identical TT & turret than Teniente Vasquez II...
same coning tower too.
