Assorted news from Atlantis Q2/24 part 1

April 3rd 1924

In yet another flurry of activity, Atlantian ship yards agian are busy working at improving the grand Atlantean fleet! Today the CV Fearless completed her shakedown cruise and joined her sister in the 2nd carrier squadron. The recently completed Moniters M1 and M2 made their way to Maracaibo were they will be stationed for training dutys until the BB Agamemnon completes her conversion to a gunnery training ship, after which they will start their regular dutys patroling the Golfo de Venezuela.
The newly rebuilt CL Active began her shakedown cruise and was joined by 4 new mine sweepers.

In response to growing consearn over the limited number of sorces of oil, the Atlantian govt. has arranged for trade talks with the Romainian, Bulgarian and Russian govt's.

"so far we are limited to a few sorces of Oil and our reserves are less plentifull than we would like" said Minister of resorces Amor Patmos. "Finding alternate sorces of oil would improve our situation somewhat given the fatct the Atlantian industry is in a bit of a growth spurt and is expected to drastically increase demand for this sorce of energy".

May 2nd 1924

It a heated parlimentary debate the suggestion that several interned Austrian ships be used as barganing tools for planned talks with Romainia and Bulgaria sparked great discussion. In addition it was made official that Yugoslavia would also be included in the talks to bolster trade in the region in addition to seeking oil contracts from other nations in the region.
" It would be grossly unfair to our Russian freinds to leave the Yugoslavians out of trade talks and possible instill some animosity towards our government and theirs for the snub!" stated Varnha Olimbos. The Prime minister went on..." therefor to keep the relations in the Balkans in good order we must include them as well!"
Several politians hinted that the Greeks and Turks would likely get lumped into the talks under the PM's logic. "If the PM is so consearned about stability in the region why would he leave the Turks and Greeks out?!", stated one member. " The Turks have been rather forth right in improving relations with Atlantis, why would we snub them?!"
Several politians fear a similar fiasco that plagued the French prior to the current govt's victory when former govt. officials attepted to milk additional money through reparations.

May 3rd 1924

As a result of a diplomatic flurry of activity, diplomats from Atlantis, Bulgaria, Romainia, Russia, the Phillipines and Yugoslavia will meet to discuss various trade issues between the various governments. The talks are shedualed for June 12th.
