During the Persian war, the then commander of the Chinese forces raised the demand for motorized and armored artillery, which can follow the armored units to the action and so the necessary artillery support could be given. It has been shown that the existing vehicles of the type Tung Meng SP75 were completely inadequate.
Tung Meng was therefore commissioned to develop a successor model.
The result of years of design work and extensive testing on the Army Test Side near Harbin is the TM 105 SP or alternatively with a 12cm Howitzer the TM 120 SP.
