US Army Organization - Battalion

US Infantry Battalion

The standard infantry Battalion deployed in the US Army during the 1940's.

Composition

1 Headquarters Squad - 4 men

3 Infantry Companies - 198 men, 5 ATRL, 12 BAR, 3 60mm mortars, 1 0.50 cal MG, 2 1/4 ton trucks, 2 1/4 ton trailers, 2 0.30 cal MG.

1 Heavy Weapons Company - 212 men, 2 motorcycles, 21 1/2 ton trucks, 4 BAR, 8 0.30 cal MGS, 4 0.50 cal MGs, 4 81mm mortars.

1 Infantry Logistics Platoon - 66 men, 8 trucks (0.5 ton), 2 motorcycles w/sidecar.

Total - 876 men, 15 ATRL, 40 BAR, 9 60mm mortars, 7 0.50 cal MG, 6 1/4 ton trucks, 6 1/4 ton trailers, 14 0.30 cal MG, 4 motorcycles, 29 1/2 ton trucks, 4 81mm mortars.
