Chinese RfP for an observation and attack aircraft

The HQ of the chinese airforce called for the development and procurement of a two-seat, twin engined aircraft which is designed to operate from small, unimproved fields under all weather conditions. The missions would include armed military observation (battlefield surveillance), artillery spotting, air control, emergency resupply, naval target spotting, liaison, and weather exploration.

The Navy airforce specified that the aircraft must be capable of operating from carriers, therefore a version with folded wings must be developed, another version should be fitted with skies to gave the possibility to land at sea and taxi to island beaches with 20 kts.
