Douglas OA-4 Dolphin, the six-seat military version of the Douglas Dolphin amphibian flying boat also used as a four-seat amphibian reconnaissance aircraft. Dimensions 60/ 45.1/ 14/ 592 sq ft; two 450hp Pratt & Whitney R-340 Wasp radials; max speed 156mph; cruising speed 135mph; service ceiling 17,000ft; range 720 miles.

Grumman OA-9 Goose


Grumman OA-9 Goose, the G-21 six/ seven-seat amphibian flying boat with two engines and monoplane wing. First flown in 1934, also used by USN and USCG. Dimensions 49/ 38/4/ 15/ 375 sq ft; two 450hp Pratt & Whitney R-985 Wasp; max speed 201mph; cruising speed 191mph; service ceiling 21,000ft; range 640 miles.

Consolidated OA-10

Consolidated OA-10, this is the USAAF search and rescue variant of the PBY-5 Catalina used by the USN. First deliveries made early 1940. Dimensions 104/ 63.10/ 20.2/ 1,400 sq ft; two 1,200hp Pratt & Whitney R-1830-92 Twin Wasp; max speed 179mph; patrol speed 117mph, service ceiling 14,700ft; max range 2,545 miles; normally unarmed but provision for four .30in Browning MGs and life rafts and rescue packs on wing racks.
