To the League of Nations from the Filipino Government, 31/3/24

Diplomatic note from the Filipino Government to the League of Nations, 31 March 1924
-----

WHERAS, the government of India currently occupies an area of Asir, centered on As Salif;

WHERAS, these Indian troops have sucessfully kept the peace, despite repeated attempts by religious fanatics to disturb it;

WHERAS, the withdrawal of the Indian troops would undoubtably result in the people of As Salif being subjected to anarchy and violence at the hands and guns of these fanatics;

THEREFORE, it is requested, by the Filipino Government, that the League of Nations grant the nation of India a mandate over the area currently occupied by Indian troops at As Salif, Yemen.

Diplomatic note from the Atlantean Government to the League of Nations, 31 March 1924

We would like to echo the sentiments of the Philipino govt., as we feel the situation in Al Salif is very sensitive in nature. At the very minimum security forces from other nations should be allowed to maintain stability in the region. Beyond that perhaps granting India Al salif as a mandate may be nessassary to maintain stability in the region.

India quite appreciates that the Philippines and Atlantis acknowledge the value of its efforts in Asir.

OOC:

Are there objections to India receiving this area as a mandate? If not, I'd like to have the League of Nations finally give India a thumbs-up in Q2. Historically, Saudi Arabia is about to run over the area as well as Makkah and Madina - so waiting much longer will be pointless.
