Might it be beneficial to make a retractable tailwheel?

Very nice looking drawing. However the length stated in the data sheet seems too long, the drawing doesn't look like the plane is that long. Actulally it looks even shorter than a Bf-110....
I am not an expert, but considering the mediocre topspeed (which wouldnt be too important for a torpedo bomber) the engines are maybe more powerfull than necessary.
Is there a reason you use the 15mm variant of the Mg 151?

It most likely would; it is something I shall consider.

I shall have to consider the size of the drawing versus the exemplar stats.

The "mediocre top speed" is taken directly from a real-world exemplar, the Yokosuka P1Y, as are all the performance stats. They are mediocre compared to the Bf110 that is quoted in the current German encyclopedia; but then, as that is a legacy design, I personally believe that its stats are far over the top. But these are preliminary stats for the Hs130 design, and subject to amendment.

The Wesworld MG151 is not the OTL MG151. Not my choice, but what it is. The armament may also be subject to amendment.

Revised Preliminary Stats

After attempting to match the drawing to size characteristics and amending the performance to reflect the changes, I've revised the preliminary stats for the Hs130 as follows:

-----

Crew – Three (Pilot, Observer/Navigator, Wireless Operator/Air Gunner)
Engines – Two BMW 801D rated at 1,820 hp for takeoff; 1,650 hp at 2,000 metres; 1,440 hp at 5,700 metres
Armament – Two fixed 15mm MG151 in the nose, one flexible 15mm MG151 in the rear cockpit
Span – 18.6 metres; Length – 13.9 metres; Height 4.3 metres; Wing area 50.9 sq. metres
Empty weight 6,730 kg; Loaded weight 9.730 kg; Maximum weight 12,510 kg; Wing loading 190.9 kg/sq. metre; Power loading 2.67 kg/hp
Maximum speed – 570 kph; Cruising speed – 385 kph
Climb to 3,000 metres – 3 minutes 45 seconds; Service ceiling 9,400 metres
Normal range – 1,720 kilometres; Ferry range – 5,100 kilometres

Perhaps this can help with the stats, the length is not changed in the modified Me-110

Okay, yeah. the revised are better suited for teh drawing in my opinion....
I am not to shure if useing the stats of the P1Y for a aircraft similar to (or developed from) the Bf-110 is a good choice. The P1Y is role- and sizewise more a medium Bomber (somewhat comparable to the Ju-88) than an attack plane (Zerstörer) like the Bf-110.
I mean a plane like the P1Y would make perfect sense for a anti shipping role...I just think the drawing doesn't fit to the Plane you have in mind and described with the parameters.

That's why I called the speed provided by the engine power mediocre....I compared your stats to Bf-110, Pe-2 and Beaufighter-like planes....

Conceptually, the Hs130 iis intended to fulfill the anti-shipping strike role; structurally, it is closer to the Hs129 and is in no way derived from the Bf110.

I think this plane compares pretty well to the Bloch MB.175T, which has a pretty comparable role.
