Stinson L-1 Vigilant, a two-seat high-wing monoplane observation aircraft developed for the USAAF. For high-lift performance the wing has full-span leading-edge automatic slats, wide span trailing edge flaps and slotted ailerons than can droop 20 degrees when the flaps are fully down. First flown in 1937. Dimensions 50.11/ 34.3/ 10.2/ 329 sq ft; 285hp Lycoming R-680-9 radial; max speed 122mph; service ceiling 12,800ft; max range 280 miles.
