Paris Post - 3 October 1929

The government announced today the conclusion of negotiations with the Obukhov Works, Petrograd, on the purchase of 12 Obukhov 420mm guns, a supply of ammunition for them, and a licence to produce ammunition. The guns are intended for installation in single coast artillery turrets, now under construction in France. These guns were selected for their long range and prodigious striking power.

The government also announced the purchase of a number of 240mm Model 1927 guns, also for the coast artillery. This gun is an improved version of the 240mm Model 1906, which saw service on the Danton class battleships.

Can I assume that the 420mm gun is a larger version of the 14"/52 for calculations with NAaB?
