MH40 Mobile Howitzer

Derived from the chassis of the LT38 light tank, the MH40 features a refurbished 150mm Skoda M17 howitzer with armoured protection for its crew. The vehicle is allocated to mechanised and select infantry units of the Royal Yugoslav Army as a mobile support weapon, usually operating in a direct-fire mode.

Engine: Ceskomoravska Kolben Danek 6 cylinder water cooled inline overhear valve engine developing 125 hp at 2200 rpm. Praga-Wilson TN-100 epicyclic pre-selector transmission with five forward and one reverse gear. Praga Wilson epicyclic clutch and brake steering.
Suspension: Four rubber-tyred wheels per side, each mounted on a cranked stub axle and each pair of wheels being controlled by a semi-epicyclic spring freely pivoted. Two return rollers per side.
