June 24. BT Evening: COMMUNICATIONS WITH NORDMARK REOPENED
Earlier this afternoon the Copenhagen WT station succeeded in achieving continued contact with the WT-stations in Nordmark. We have received a series of short telegrams about the state in our neighbour nation to the North. Mr Torbenssen in Stockholm sent the following:

The last few days here in the capital of Nordmark have been tense
and uncomfortable. Ever increasing numbers of fully armed and
equipped infantry and cavalry have been patrolling the streets -
at last count probably more than ten battalions of infantry and
three regiments of cavalry were in the city, in addition to maybe
as much as one regiment of armoured motorcars. Two days ago, a
cortége of motorised infantry and cavalry was seen escorting
several of the royal motorcars to the main railway station, where
a number of persons were seen boarding the Royal Train, which was
under escort of several armoured and armed trains. What was
perhaps most worrying about the situation was that no local
inhabitants had any idea of what had happened - everyone in the
streets were as confused and scared as the foreign nationals.

It is now confirmed from official sources that the entirety of the
Navy and the Coastal Defence is to be mobilised. The mobilisation
has been underway for some days now, and is expected to complete on
June 28th. No official explanation has been given, and all unofficial
sources have been silent as the grave. high-ranking officers of the
armed forces have however been seen with black armbands, as have high-
ranking members of the government and the bureaucracy. What manner of
atrocity has taken place can only be imagined.
