Q1/23

3rd January Today marked the arrival of a Danish Freighter to the port of Genoa. Materials were unloaded at the Ansaldo yard. The work is for 4 MAS boats for the DKM this quarter, with many more being expected to order later this year. This is a fine example of the new cooperation between the members of the new triple alliance, AANM. It can only be a matter of time before FART is ousted as the premier European power.

10th January The new Coastal Defence Armourclad "Aries" left the port of Taranto this morning on her maiden voyage after 1½ years of building. She is the first of 4 CDAs, the rest commissioning at the end of this year. These powerful ships are perfect for defending Italy’s coastline against foreign powers. After 6 months of working up with her new crew she will join the 6th Destroyer Flotilla in the Defence of the Dodecanese against the pervading power of Atlantis in a region that shouldn’t concern it.

16th January After presenting his case before a court in Milano, Mussolini, the leader of the Fascisti, has overturned the result of last month’s general election. Facta’s government is in disarray but has promised to grant another election in the next month as a means of finally crushing the Fascist movement in Italy.

18th January There has been wide scale protests in Milano and Turino against Facta’s government by the Fascisti. The protests went peacefully until about 1800hrs when the Fascisti were attacked by a group of socialist scumbags. Belatedly, the Fascisti replied with arson attacks on socialist newspaper buildings. Amazingly the death toll was a mere 5 socialists killed.

19th January The protests in Milano and Turino of yesterday have spread rapidly through the rest of the “red romagna” with excessive violence being used occasionally. Facta’s government is waiting for the fire to die down as it always does after 2-3 days.

23rd January Strangely this past week has not stopped the rioting in the Romagna as normal. Facta has been forced to deploy the police and army to break up the demonstrations. Unfortunately this has backfired with the police being apathetic, and the army supportive of the Fascisti. Mussolini has been summoned to Rome to try and negotiate an end to this violence.

25th January A deal has been brokered between the Fascists and the government; a repeat general election will not be held, the violence by fascisti will stop, the fascists will be allowed 3 ministries in the current government.

30th January The violence of the past 2 weeks has completely stopped with the Fascisti uniting behind their victorious leader. Mussolini now occupies the position of Minister for Foreign Affairs. The place for Minister of Agriculture has also been occupied. Instead of taking up the offer for a 3rd ministry the Fascists have instead opted for placing Italo Balbo as the leader of the Regina Aeronautica. Long live Il Duce!


15th February In his first notable act as Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mussolini has politely requested that Atlantis leave its position along the Dardanelles saying that "It [Atlantis] is a really destabilising influence in this hotly contested area. It is causing unnecessary tension in an easily flammable area" Atlantis’ mandate in this area is seen by many Italians, and the Greek and Turkish populations of the Dodecanese, as an illegal land grab in a historically Turkish area. "Atlantis has no need to be present in the Dardanelles. Even the British are less intrusive"

30th March The last of the Generale Antonio Cantore class destroyers has been completed. These fine ships are fast and powerfully armed. They far outmatch every other destroyer currently in service. This entire class will become escorts for Battle squadron F.

Nice job. Good to see that Il Duce isn't letting a gunshot slow him down.

I'm curious to see what use the Facists can make of their control of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The SAE minister for foreign affairs expressed his concerns when he heard of all those riots in Italy and Germany caused by left or right wing parties.
