Subtender 1930

As this design reveals, following *censored* the Philippines will adopt the Indian 35mm AA gun for new construction (and replacement on older vessels as time and materials permit) over the old 2-pdr previously used.

Also note, the torpedo tubes will not be disclosed in any official documents... ;-)

Not that I object to the coming millions in royalties, but what prompted that decision?

So this is a supply ship rather than a full tender with accommodation, then?

Sometimes I think you foreshadow too much, y'know. You've left so many clues that any reasonably attentative player will have figured out by now that 1929 will see a giant moth flatten downtown Manila. There won't be any shock value.

Yeah common Swampy, something like 0.0" torpedo tubes will slip under the radar abit better.

I also wonder if those TT's are really worth it for a tender surounded by subs...

Partially due to a feeling in the Design Office that it is the superior weapon, partially for commonality in ammunition supply.

The Quartermaster's Office is studying "protracted conflict operations" and is concerned that, in the event of the MdF being force to operate from an "evacuated position", ammunition might start running short for some calibers - there is a body of opinion that the 155mm gun should be changed to 150mm, a caliber used by both India and Japan, for instance.

That's right.

You're probably right. It's just that it's so much fun... ^_^

Torpedo tubes - the Design Office views it as (a) the ship is carrying around 21-inch fish anyway, and (b) if caught is a sitting duck anyway; it may as well have some chance of taking an attacker or two with it.

And it had an appetite to match!

Torpedo's will do little against other torpedo's fired off by either lurking enemy subs or torbedo bombers if your in an extreme forward area.

As for the foreshadowing...it may backfire on ya!

Why do I keep thinking of "shadow carriers" and Q-boats when I see Fillipino designs.

Because you're paranoid? :-)
Don't worry. You're not the only one who thinks that.
