Houkokusho Taisho 8 Nen 12 Getsu 31 Nichi

(Edit: how does it come that one only notice the errors in a report when he's creating the report for the next Quarter? Minor error with Zuiho and Shoho corrected)
(Edit 2: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH)

Fourth Quarter of Eighth year of the Emperor Taisho report of Japan.

Submitted by Nakamura Shoda to the Shogun. Taisho 8 Nen 12 Getsu 31 Nichi

Tokugawa-dono,

Attached is a list of the 4th quarter of the Eighth year of the Reign of Emperor Taisho.
The budget of the Imperial Navy for this year was 3.5 billion yen. A total of 3.491 billion yen was used of that total.

Your loyal servant and secretary,
Nakamura Shoda

PS: It has come to my attention that a special colour will be used for the Empress’ Island Hopper which could, in my opinion, be a very dubious one. Though I have not heard which exact colour, knowing my sister, it will be one that is not appropriate for a ship that will be built under the laws of the Cleito Treaty.

======================================

Factory assignment:

Of the 25 factories available to the empire, Factories I to XV are used for the infrastructure (fixed for the year) for 1.5 point plus the extra 1.5 for fixing the factories for the year for a total of 3 points in the final quarter of the year. Factories XVI to XXV are assigned to produce materials to be used in the warships for a total of 10000 tons in the quarter.

FSS: F class names...

Here are the names for the FSS: F class destroyers as they should be in Japanese (I hope I made no errors with "translating"). A large number of names I have in Katakana so "translating" them into Romanji is no real problem, some of them seem to be simple enough, but there are a few I'm not too sure about.

(?) = Unsure of spelling (unclear katakana character)
(??) = Done with own imagination so could be wrong (no katakana example available)

It seems we share a similar taste in names for ships. I also like naming ship after heavenly bodies, galaxies, asteroids and moons. Some counties/regions/towns will appear however.

Quite funny since I did not name these ships after heavenly bodies, galaxies, asteroids and moons, but I named them after characters from the Manga "Five Star Stories" by Mamuro Nagano. It's definitely my favorite Manga.
Still there are enough stars out there to use as names for ships. Neat thing is that you can call your ship "Alpha Canis Majoris" or "Alpha Ursae Minoris", but you can also use their regular names - Sirius and Polaris - for other ships. Perhaps a Gamma Red Admiralis somewhere :-)
Of course you could end up with ships called "13 Aquarii", "87 Tauri", "Ross 154", "Luyten 789-6", etc. Same for the Galaxy designations.

Walter

(The one thing I do not understand is that with "Queen", the Katakana gave me "Kuun" in Romanji, but in my opinion it would be more logical to write it in Romanji as "Kuiin"... I definitely need to get my hands on the original manga.)
