Valkyrie II class fleet escort cruisers are specifically designed to use the 120mm turrets designed to be retrofitted to the "Hel" class CAs. They are to supplement the anti-aircraft capabilities of the fleet. Turrets simmed as triples to simulate increased weight of HA/LA mounts, twins actually mounted.

At last the lady reveals herself - and hey, she's a looker.

She'll do nicely at the anti-Manzo mission.

What accounts for the extra weight of the 120s? Automatic loading at high angles?

That would be the "HUGINN" system,
Rocky was on the receiving end of it once!

Check out most of my DD's and smaller for the last few years, they are all using 120MM's, based on Danish experience (independantly arrived at, I might add!) in the Andaman Sea Crisis!!

Using the allowences arrived at when Alt Naval first proposed HA turreted guns for Greece...we did a deal for the tech, and there you have it! But basically, Yes.

Not "Atlan-kyrie"? (Though "San Juan-kyrie" might be easier on the tongue...)

Well done, CG! I agree with Rocky; she's a beauty! And the aft layout is great.

Big Rich

Only thing your picture could really stand improvement on, is some detailing on the bridge (pilothouse windows), Flagstaff and jackstaff, and I'd round the corners of the top of the funnel a bit. You might also consider colouring it, but that's personal preference.

I might try doing it in 2 pixels to the foot, which I've used on a DD in the past!
