Summary
Two new minesweepers of the Rila Mountains class are laid down for construction in Burgas. These minesweepers are named for the most notable mountains of the Rila Mountain range; the class should run at least twelve ships. The ships have special propellers for better maneuvering and acoustic performance, permitting them to double as submarine hunters.

The first of the Tants-class naval tugs, the Kopanitsa, is laid down in Varna. The Kopanitsa carries an antiaircraft battery of one 8x8cm AA gun and four Oerlikon 20mm machine guns. One further vessel is ordered for 1938 construction, with the possibility of further vessels to follow.

The experimental gunboat / submarine chaser Tsaritsa Ioanna is under construction in Varna. The Tsaritsa Ioanna is named for the current queen consort of Bulgaria, and will be armed with two 8.8cm guns and 20mm Oerlikons.

The destroyers Hrabri, Strogi, and Bureni have completed construction, and begin their six-month sea trials in late November, while the class leader, BVK Drazki, completes her trials in the same month and joins the fleet. Other ships on sea trials include the Atlantean-built submarine Delfi and the midget submarines PD-1 and PD-2, all of which are delivered by December of 1937.

Construction of the contradestroyer BVK Kyustendil continues apace, and preparations are made in Varna for the keel-laying of the second ship, tentatively named BVK Pazardzhik.
