Identification Code
Gentlemen,
your help is requested.
I´d like to put together a list of identification codes used by all player countries to identify their ships.
Examples:
RSAN (Royal South African Navy) Ophion
HMS (His/Her Majesty Ship) Hood
USS (United States Ship) Ranger
etc.
Please tell me what kind of code you´re using for your ships.
Thanks,
HoOmAn
Nordmark uses RNN (Royal Nordmark Navy)
so e.g RNN Gota Lejon
Atlantis:
RN (Regius Navales)
ANS(Atlantean Naval Ship) Memnon
Poland
ORP(Okret Rzeczpospolitej Polskiej)*
Romania
N.M.S. (Nava majestatii sale)**
Jugoslavia
KJM (Kraljevina Jugoslavija Mari)***
*ship poland republic
**(his)Majesty navy ship
***Kingdom (of) Yugoslavia Ship
Difrent grammar for each languege soo word for word tranlation sounds like Yoda...on crack
Ðïëåìéêü Íáõôéêü
: ( I guess we don't have the right font.
Go with RHN - Royal Hellenic Navy
Cheers,
Regia Marina (Royal Navy)
Regia Nave (Royal Ship) e.g. RN Roma
RAN (Royal Australian Navy)
HMAS (His/Her Majesty Australian Ship)
RANAS (Royal Australian Naval Air Service)
RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force)
AdM (Armada de Mexico)
FAM (Fuerza Aerea Mexicana)
I keep Formosa and Pacifica simple:
RCN = Royal Chosenian Navy and CNS = Chosenian Navy Ship
RFN = Royal Formosan Navy and FNS = Formosan Navy Ship
For Japan I stick to the:
IJN = Imperial Japanese Navy and HIJMS = His Imperial Japanese Majesty Ship
I use Esperanto for Pacifica to make it a bit different(though I have absolutely no idea about its grammar):
RPM = Respubliko Pacifika Mararmeo (Pacifica Republic Navy) and ŜPM = Ŝipo Pacifika Mararmeo (Pacifica Navy Ship).
The Chilean Navy does not use a prefix on their vessels. (I've found no evidance of any used by that nation at all ever).
SCV - ShinRa Corporate Vesse- wait, wrong sim (for now?). :o
RCN - Royal Canadian Navy
RCNAS - Royal Canadian Naval Air Service
RCAF - Royal Canadian Air Force
RCMPS - Royal Canadian Mounted Police Ship/Schooner
RCMPC - Royal Canadian Mounted Police Cutter
HMCS - His Majesty's Canadian Ship
PRS = Philippine Republic Ship
AdF = Armada de Filipinas
FAF = Fuerza Aerea Filipinas (Filipino Air Force)
Netherlands
United Kingdom Of the Netherlands
KM = Koninklijke Marine (Royal Netherlands Navy )
HNLMS = Hare Majesteit's (Her Majesty’s) ship
KKM = Koninklijke Korps Mariniers (Royal Marine Corps)
KMLD = Koninklijke Marine Luchtvaartdienst (Royal Netherlands Naval Air Service)
KL = Koninklijke Landmacht (Royal Netherlands Army)
KLSK = Koninklijke Wapen Der Militaire Luchtvaart (Royal Netherlands Army Air Service)
Kmar = Koninklijke Marechaussee (Royal Constabulary)
KNK = Koninklijke Nederlandse Kustwacht (Royal Coast Guard)
KP = Korps Rijkspolitie (National Police Corps)
France's navy is the Marine Nationale (MN), and ship names include MN.
Russia's navy is the Voennoi-Morskoi Flot (VMF), but Russian ship names have no prefix.
Thank you Admiral!
I am not a big fan of enforcing somethign like this. A lot of navies never did it historically or currently, so why impose it?
Well, it´s easier when you write stories. Typing "RSAN Ophion" is much shorter than "Royal South African Navys battleship OPHION" or something - and it reads much easier too.
Imperio do Brasil Nave (Empire of Brazil Ship) = IBN
I don't remember anyone enforcing this.....wasn't it merely a question?
I used "SR" to denote "Ship of the Raj" when I started out and had absolutely no clue about the Hindi language.
Now that I have the resources to butcher the language in earnest, I'm going to take a stab at suggesting:
SR = Samraja nau Ranapota = The Emperor's Warship
BNS = Bharatiya nau Sena = The Indian Navy
Ship prefixes.....
Denmark - KDM
Siam - RSNS (although I have been using RTNS in error)
Iberia - No prefix used on ships' names
