Election looms closer!!!

With only 30 days left to go until the general election, the campaigning by all parties involved has stepped up a gear.

Prime-Minister Niels Thomasius Neergaard, when asked recently to comment on his party's drop according to the latest opinion polls said, " The Copenhagen Disaster has been seized upon by the opposition as proof that our Navy is outmoded and no longer needed, as Siam are purchasing large quantities of weapons and are able to look after themselves."
He continued to say "This does not negate the fact that they are a proctorate of the Crown and as such, we are still obliged to aid in their defence and to aid in the build up of their armed forces to a level where they can defend themselves. And this does not even take into account the other overseas territories."

In reply to the Prime Ministers comments, the leader of the opposition Carl Theodor Zahle said "The Navy are like a group of children with old toys that are breaking on them, they see that the other children have newer toys and they want them. Well I am sorry, but the economy cannot afford to spoil these children. The vessels that the navy currently have are sufficient to defend Denmark, and the overseas territories will just have to look after themselves. The people of Denmark come first!."

As for the other parties, both the communists and the facists are making some ground, but the polls only give them about 1.4% of the vote between them if the election were to happen tomorrow.
