Depending on how fast this "fast" mine cruiser is, Bulgaria may be interested in learning more. I've got a very rough sim of Abdiel, but I'm curious how much your extra 1,000 tons buys...

Here are OOC stats for the ship. Comparing her to Abdiel might disappoint you. I focused on other things and the Abdiels are difficult to sim anyway.

To me "fast" in this case meant "more than 26-28kn" which was the speed of earlier steps in the process that lead to the design below.

It breaks down in smaller pieces. Pieces that look like iron hedhodges.... I call them MINES but you may have a different name for them. ;o)

Don´t really know enough about minelaying to sort things out. I just thought 300 tons looks good enough.

Now that I think of it, having a radar set aboard during high speed night operations might come handy too. Do you think there could be one among those crates with those 300 tons in ´em?

I know what he meant. I just had no answer at hand other than that misc weight should be suffice for any number of mines that such a small hull could realistically carry....

Acctually I'm more interested in what weights been given to an individual naval mine, or even what other nations mine weigh.

From my research, most 1930s appropriate mines weigh about 1 ton (2,000 pounds) each, with about 25% being explosive. The Bulgarian Obrazets-1937 naval mine here is an example which I believe I designed based off a Russian moored contact mine.

Thats about what I thought they would weigh, similar to torpedo's.

When I designed my minelayer, I estimated 90-100 mines would be sufficient, and assigned 120t misc weight. My design was admittedly driven by Bulgaria's lack of need for range, or the construction of large minefields; so speed (as in Abdiel) remained paramount. Armament ended up being 6x105 and some 40mm AAs, while range was a pathetic 4,000nm @ 10 knots.
