Here's a new DD (though she counts as a CL under the Treaty) for the Kriegsmarine. Apparently France and Germany are thinking along similar, though not identical, lines right now.....

The twin 6" turrets seem a little small, although I'm not sure what Wes's scale is.

What's the intended role? Destroyer leader?

Intended role is as either destroyer leaders or simply large fleet destroyers.

Scale is similar to Hoomans, my own 6" turrets seem large by compairison.

Give me some specs on the turret size and I'll size em up properly on my template to see if its accurate.

Comparison with 152mm turrets from a smaller scale. I'm working at 1:45 and you and Stephan are around 1:35 - 1:40 so should have larger turrets.

Funny, when I went into my German weapons template I found the turret was small when compared to its triple counterpart, not sure how that happened. He she is with larger turrets...

Are those the twin 15cm from the capital ships, or the twin 15cm from the Zerstorers?

Reason I ask is that the turrets should look like the bow turret here:

I like the bigger turrets, methinks she looks more balanced now.

They are basically twin versions of the 15cm turrets from the Ankara class, though obviously with less armor.

Given my own German DD models dipict turrets very similar in appearance to those on the capital ships they might look appropriate.

Beam seems too wide on the pic - she has a length:beam ratio above 10 after all.

Don't know how seeing as its been done to scale.

I'm inclined to see Lebrecht Maas less as a destroyer than an unarmoured fast cruiser.

I agree she looks fatter than a DD should, perhaps its that and the powerful turrets that makes me think more of a cruiser than a destroyer.

Well , what turned out the be the German scout cruiser was originally proposed in 1938 as "Destroyer 1938 ac" or "ad" (and was actually larger than this design) and later (1939) grew into a Reconassiance Cruiser.
So based on historical precedent I guess this could be considered a destroyer
