What is it with people putting so many guns onto small escorts? The extra firepower is essentially useless as the vessel will hardly ever be in a position to use it, but comes at a massive detriment to deckspace, magazine space, extra crew...

Someone sets the standard and others follow suit. Notice the most guns on an Atlantean CL is 12 and not 16.

Speaking of too many guns in small ships. My frigates are simply overgunned. 3x4.7" and 4x3" in 900 tons. Thats the result of stuffing a post WWII Fletcher rebuilt into 900 tons. If its not a problem Ill change them to smething more realistic.
