- Yakutsk (BPK-02): Laid down January 1946 in Rostov-on-Don, completed December 1946.

Notes:
Built on the base of a torpedo cruiser / large destroyer hull, this vessel was constructed for operational testing of the 9K42-M6 "Groza" weapon system and associated antisubmarine gear. The Groza system featured two stabilized four-barrel antisubmarine mortar launchers located on the forecastle of the ship. The ship was designed to allow a helicopter to land on the aft deck, but this required the removal of the stern depth-charge racks or minelaying gear, and was not regularly done until 1948.

Kharkov also carried two different sizes of torpedoes: two triple 45cm torpedo launchers (one on each beam) and one quad 65cm torpedo launcher on the midline. The 45cm launchers fire short-ranged acoustic seeking torpedoes designed to target submerged submarines, and had no reloads; the 65cm torpedoes were intended for defense against surface ships, and had one reload per tube.

A second ship, the Yakutsk, was built in 1946, and the design was used as the basis of the Serdityi-class. Proigryvatel' acoustic decoys were fitted to Yakutsk, but Kharkov lacks the necessary fittings to use the system.
