Organization - Syrian Army Order of Battle, 1941
- 2 Infantry Brigades: ~4,200 men (1 infantry regiment, 1 artillery battalion, 1 reconnaissance squadron, 1 heavy mortar company, support troops)*
- 3 Defense Battalions: ~950 men (includes AA troops)
- 1 Engineering and Supply Battalion: ~850 men
- 1 Antitank Group: ~250 men

Organization - Syrian Police and Border Troops Order of Battle, 1941
No order of battle is currently available; these police troops do not share the same regimentialization as the Army.

*Note: In February of 1947, the Syrian Army committed to turn one of the two infantry brigades into a mechanized combined-arms formation.

Organization - Syrian Police and Border Troops Order of Battle, 1947
In December 1946, the Syrian government turned over the duties of the border troops and internal security troops to al-Tali'a ("The Vanguard"), a paramilitary organization affiliated with the ruling League of Nationalist Action. The organization's strength was set at 3,000 active personnel and 8,000 reserve personnel.
