Surveying for coastal batteries commenced.
Locations : Niuwport, Ostende, Blankenberge, Zeebrugge, Nieuweluis, Antwerp, and Breezand.

4 Experimental Coastal Gun battery turrets produced, two with 9.2 gun & 80 degree elevation, two with 152mm gun and 80 degree elevation. Both experimental coastal mountings feature a 75 mm cast lining, connected by 500mm steel rods to 25mm (50mm front) shell of hardened armor sections, with the intervening space filled with concrete. The intention is the hardened armor will damage or defeat the shell outright, the concrete will aborb the KE and ensure any penetrating shell will detonate prior to the interior lining. The cast lining, formidable armor in it's own right, offers the final layer of protection against any damaged shells reaching it, or ejecta from partial penetrations.

9.2 turret dimensions : 9.3m long, 7m wide, 3.4m high, front slope 23deg, side 19deg.
9.2 armor weight (tanksharp) 110ts, gun weight (springsharp) 48.7ts, total paid weight : 158.7ts (vs. std springsharp 84.4ts)
152mm turret dimensions : 6m long, 5m wide, 3m high, front slope 20deg, side 10deg.
152mm armor weight (tanksharp) 67.6ts, gun weight (springsharp) 13.4ts, total paid weight : 81ts (vs. std springsharp 34.5ts)

Note, both turrets scaled from singles on HMS Glatton and tanksharped for steel weight est

6 standard Coastal Gun battery turrets produced, two with 9.2 gun & 80 degree elevation, two with 152mm gun and 80 degree elevation, two with 4.7mm gun & 30 degree elevation . All with sloped 200mm face, 150mm all round. Springsharp weights 103ts, 45.8ts, 30.8ts

4 AA turret produced, two with 125mm & 80 degrees elevation, two with 90mm and 80 degree elevation, both with sloped faces, 130mm face, 65mm sides. Springsharp weights 15ts, 7.8ts.

Total Coastal Gun tonnage for testing : 513 tons standard.
