This vessel carries several smaller landing craft (EDA-55 mechanized landing craft and EA-13 infantry landing craft) in modified lifeboat davits. Cranes are able to unload cargo from the holds, or amphibious vehicles may disembark into the water via the stern unloading ramp, which opens directly onto the main vehicle deck. This large vehicle deck runs most of the length of the ship and can accommodate vehicles as large as a tank.
