The 75mm Mle1939 had a 3-trail carriage permitting a 360° traverse. It is replacing all past 75mm AT guns at the divisional level. This gun can use both Brandt sub-caliber 75/57mm shells and Brandt HEAT projectiles, undergoing testing in 1940 to provide additional armour-piercing antitank performance. This gun is used both as an antiaircraft gun and an antitank gun, while a modified (shortened) version is used on the Transall FT-37 Lefebvre heavy tank. A follow-on version with the full-length barrel also appeared on the Char-8 Montbrun medium tank.
