Dornier Do35 Amphibian Flying Boat

The Do.35 was first mooted as a successor to the earlier Do.25 general purpose amphibian in 1942 though it was not accorded significant priority by the Dornier firm. Serious work commenced late in 1946 and a prototype was first flown in late 1948. The first aircraft were delivered to the Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Rettung Schiffbrüchiger, Germany’s civil maritime search and rescue service, in March 1949.
