but the mission remains - destroy cruisers if need be - run from BBs and BCs. And of course disturb trade. Leve the big convoys to the subs. Oh and ss3b3 doesn't have centreline ends evenly distributed

Light Battleship Concept

I like the hybrid ideas. If you google Fleuzer, there was a lovely project in that vein. Do we have stats for this, because 100t do not cover a flight deck The fleuzer carried 2*3 203 mm, an aft flight deck and 4 S-Boats on ~20 Gg

the speed and range are directly from the Kreuzer P project. This is Germany without any bases - this means being able to steam all over the ocean and not having to refuel. This also means being able to disengage in a hurry if too strong opposition shows up. My idea for He 115 has the same reasoning. When people saw an Ar196 they knew one of the Panzerschiffe wasn't far (BTW those had 70mm armour!). Seeing a He 115 doesn't pinpoint the carrying ship nearly as well. I'll have a look at mount & ho...

sorry, should have been 128mm - I was working from memory. And yes, they are secondary arty, so they do serve a purpose. let me rectify a few things this evening. As for space - don't forget how long that critter is Armour, I see that point. But this is meant to be a cruiser, which will simply outrun BBs. And as WWII proved, damage control beats armour every day of the week.

He 115 as a catapult plane

I am not so sure - And the Ar-196 would have to return and arm in order to be able to launch a torp. The He-115 could do both.

He 115 as a catapult plane

Quoted Originally posted by HoOmAn The larage K-7/K-9 catapults can launch her, but what would it be good for? Why the interest in a "catapultable" He115? Range - and a secondary torpedo attack capability. Imagine having a few scouting the ocean and sinking the odd freighter with a torpedo.

He 115 as a catapult plane

Hi folks. would this be feasible? And if so, desirable? I like the thought of the added range. See my supercruiser with 4 of them.

Hoo, I love your 240 mm design - for obvious reasons Can you hold her against the original El Cid? I have a feeling that we lost 3 Gg between 1921 and 1942, but my memory might be acting up ;o)

Iberia's next BB

I came up with te idea of sticking with 57 mm when I invented Iberia. 76mm autos were used in the USN just after the war. So I figured "what if". 57mm should be easier than 76 mm. It is a lot closer to 40mm which was common in the war.

compacter than El Cid, but barely a match for her, which given the difference in time is astounding.

But you could always go one better and have a Midleton!!! what, you mean I have convinced you?
