Talbot Class LST (LST-1153 class)

I realize that this probably is out of the scope of this forum, but does anyone have a profile drawing of the Talbot County class LST? It doesn't matter which of the ships it depicts or what timeframe, anything will be useful, even drawings of the AVB-2 will be welcomed with open arms. It doesn't matter how bad the quality is or how dubious its origin or accuracy is. I'll take anything.

Port Service Boats

If you fit them with pindles for a 20mm MG or similar they could double as guard boats which would be handy in a war scenario.

My contribution to the 100th anniversary.

Quoted Originally posted by Hood Snip Well, from the perspective of someone whose job is still influenced by the sinking, I will say that the Titanic has had a tremendous amount of long term influence starting with the foundation of SOLAS and from there the IMO.

Earthrace -- and Earthrace 2

I don't really consider it a shame when Sea Shepherds get their heads bashed. As for the "ramming" nobody really knows what happened, but based on what I've seen of their navigational "skills" and seamanship I'm surprised they even made it to the Southern Hemisphere in the first place. (LEt's just say that watching the Steve Irwing trying to moor in Algeciras was fun so long as you didn't have to pay for the damages. Seriously, these people have no idea about what they're doing, are a danger to ...

Happy Christmas and Merry Holidays

(Not sure if you know what I mean but they start playing this song in German radio in Oktober and it doesn´t stop until Febriary. Every year!" Anyway... Merry Christmas to all of you. :o) Stephan Yeah, same here in Denmark. Thankfully, the shops have adopted Halloween, so they have to wait until the end of october before they start ...

I decided to go the other way and replace the B mount with a shielded one. It should reduce any topweight issues. She has also received her full complement of torpedoes. The 6in guns are Bofors 152mm/50 M1912

Time for something a bit more substantial. It's not quite finished yet, so I'd like some feedback. I'm trying to decide if the B mount is too much. The alternatives are either replacing it with a shielded gun, or replacing the two twin 3inchers on the beams with shielded mounts and putting a twin 3in in the B spot.

Best and worst Alt History?

Words can't describe the loathing I feel for Lars E Rohdes 'Hvis det var nemt havde de sendt nogle andre' (If it was easy they would have sent someone else) It's supposed to be a postscript for the RDN submarine arm, but the plot is so farfetchet and the author's understanding of sub combat is so poor it ends up as a farce. The plot centers around a Libyan attempt at attacking Israel with chemical weapons. In order to maximize the attacks effectiveness they need accurate weather data, and this i...

RE: Rebuilding RMS Britannic

Quoted Originally posted by RMSCANADA Eco-Friendliness 1. Use biodiesel to power engines rather than oil - much cleaner. No it's not. Contrary to popular belief Bio-fuels doesn't burn any cleaner than regular fuel. It has a lower sulphur content than most marine diesel, but that's a production choice rather than an inherent feature of marine diesel.

And here she is in all her glory, the last VTE powered torpedo boat in this RDN. I'll post some more information about the class once I get around to putting it in writing. I'll also need to change a couple of details in the SS report to reflect some of the changes I've made.
