Some tech rules would be cool. upkeep for built ships in active status. Some manpower rules so ship crews aren't raised from nowhere. things like those, mainly.

Siam possible builds

Well Siam certainly thanks both Germany and the UK for their proposals but here I'm facing a situation of having to go with what I can build/buy rather than what I'd want to build. At 2000tons per quarter, Siam produces too little to buy those ships and some destroyers to go with them too. Taking the Vickers model, 6500 tons light (some 60% over the 4000t of the siamese design), for instance. I'd need 13000 tons to build two of those. 18x 6'' guns. For 8000 tons I get 16x6'' in two ships. If I i...

Those who had deals with Siam...

Please contact me via PM. I know Siam had deals with AEGIS, USA and the UK, but in the quarterly reports done by past players I see tons being transferred from China, and Ips transferred to Siam from Persia. I do know the Chinese materials come from the sale of Bangkok, but I do not know when those materials transfers are due to end. And I plainly have no idea on why Persia would send 0.3 IP per quarter to siam, so there's something I'm losing there. I also don't know if there was some behind th...

I have doubts about the efficiency of a 6'' DP mount too, not that much because no proximity shells (well AAA fire was still effective without them) but because shell weight and rate of fire. The point of putting those weapons on the design is that, well, Siam needs to get those mounts somewhere (I doubt there's an indigenous industry which can design a duple or triple 6'' mount just out of the blue), and AEGIS is the place to look first. From the CL mounts within AEGIS ships, I found the Italia...

Siam possible builds

It's actually a neat design. And gave me some ideas to work in. With 6 main guns I find her with a too light punch...but with some work, fiddling here and there, I was able to put eight 152mm guns in a slightly lighter ship. The base point here is that you have a point about the belts. I wanted to give her a reasonable protection against 6 inch fire, but that protection would be only needed if fighting another light cruiser. And given the design size, displacement and guns, it already is at a dis...

as for slips to build the ships in, I already mentioned in my first post that I'd have to "hire" some foreign slips to build most of this ships. Being a member of AEGIS, I guess I'll find someone with free slips who can do Siam this little favor

dang that must've happened when i tried to increse the lenght of the ship. Must've missed the BC and L/B in the meantime. The issue with the L/B happens in fact with all of them. Reworked all of them. The changes mostly are about lowering the draught, cutting lenght, adding freeboard, and thinning the ends belt to 30mm. BCs are around 0.440-ish now. Turns out I achieved a save in weight with those changes too. Something always welcome for my very limited resource budget 9x6'' version: Thanom Sar...

Well, in the meantime I converted my SS3 CL designs to SS2. Here they are with some notes. As with the DDs, the mounts are of foreign origin and will have to negotiate to get the appropiate license to use them. I'm leaning towards the 8x152mm version myself, but want to hear some input anyway: Thanom Sarasin, Siamese Light Cruiser laid down 1937 Displacement: 5.032 t light; 5.226 t standard; 5.650 t normal; 5.989 t full load Dimensions: Length overall / water x beam x draught 572,50 ft / 557,74 ...

About SS2.1 , I'm not opposed to it, but I like a lot SS3. However as the consensus is going with SS2, then with SS2 I'll do my designs. As I noted, the Destroyer is almost 200t lighter with SS2, so it's not as if I am against it Quoted Originally posted by HoOmAn Regarding the DD - she´s a pretty useful ship, indeed. How many does Siam intend to build and how long will that take? That depends a lot. Firstly I must figure out exactly how many ships I need (fast DDs and CLs is not the only depart...

RE: Hey!

Thanks for the welcome, Hooman. This could be seen from the other side aswell. Maybe you weren't late, but me too early, hehehe . I'm happy with Siam, tho, good strategic position to play an active role, and with it's limited industrial output, a decent challenge to play with. Besides, I'd hate to see you stop playing the SIM .
