Another option would be to treat Army and Air stuff the same as naval stuff and have infrastructure, tech development and production reports. We could use a pre made tech tree and currency to research the respective tech. Once researched it can be used/built. I'm not asking for an overly complicated system but something dummed down so that any player can use it. Bruce is correct, posting in the ship designs forum first is usually the informal protocol for new designs and is a good way to iron out all the bugs and deficiencies in a design with constructive criticism and advice. I have to agree with Foxy, early on in the sim we had plenty of people still learning how to perfect their designs and encyclopedias are chocked full of designs that have been altered to correct mistakes. We also have the gentlemens rules to help guide as well. There is plenty of help from the few of us who have been using springsharp for literally years.

I'm warming to one of three different nations. Japan, the Ottoman empire (that does not completely collapse during WW1) or a Gran Columbia (that also doesn't fall apart) that includes Panama, Costa Rica, Aruba, Curacao, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada and likely some other smaller Islands in the region. (sounds like I'm warming to option three lol)

Well aside from Atlantis the current wesworld map does have some alternate nations in a real world scenario so discussion revolving around fictional diversions is most definitely not out of the question.

Its been a long standing design trait for Atlantean ships to carry 12.7mm guns for use against small craft, their placement is usually placed near senior staff positions in case they feel especially heroic/suicidal.

Fixed the armor error and added extra weight for the auto turrets inner workings. The design comes out slightly larger than the first design but still an acceptable level of growth. The basic idea is that with the auto 8" twin turrets it can pack as much punch as cruisers typically 3,000-4,000 tons heavier but, as you say, not break the bank while providing a heavily armed and capable light cruiser suitable to be built in some numbers. Atlantis plans to build 12 of these types to replace the Pioneer class and eventually the Ares class. I also need to tweak the design as the belt doesn't completely cover the vitals.

You would be correct, these are test ships only and would be used in sheltered coastal waters in either northern Venezuela or Mauritania, most likely the former.

While I understand the noble urge to refrain from selling to NPC's willy nilly just to make a profit I find it highly unrealistic that a nation such as Peru would simply discard 6 year old ships no matter what my in character Colombian feelings are. I understand that a nation such as the U.S. or Britain would discard such heavily used vessels (in the case of the U.S. they would be in inactive reserve), they have the resources to change their fleets composition to changing world threats. Varyag-class Cruiser

I don't think it should be too hard to fit 3x twin 130mm and 3 twin 75mm mounts per side, Varyag is roughly similar to U.S.S Salem in length. Salems 3" battery if reduced could have allowed another pair of 5" turrets per side IMO, Varyag just swaps a possible 4th 3" mount for a 5.1" turret.
