Preliminary Profile - Empresa Nacional de AviaciĆ³n T-27 Tapaculo Advanced Training Aircraft

During the Leticia conflict Colombian and Atlantean bombers focused on the airfield and naval station at Iquitos in an effort to lessen the possibility of counter attacks when liberating Leticia.

Burnelli CB-27 Aigaion

In short I can understand the reasoning behind using this particular design, as you say to make better use of commonwealth assets, but the specs as originally envisioned were considerably ahead of what Britain was using. Add in that the Westminster design is already pushing that envelope ever so slightly and the Aigaion dwarfs that design and things can tend to spiral out of control on the "one upsmanship" game.

Burnelli CB-27 Aigaion

That would bring it into B-52 sized payload and still quite high when looking at British bombers available.

Burnelli CB-27 Aigaion

I think you may have a typo on the specs for the Burnelli CB-27 Aigaion. A bomb load of 89,000 lb (40,370 kg) seems abnormally high for the period, particularily when compared to other wesworld designs. BCAC (Vickers) Type 497 Westminster B.Mk.I 56,000lb (25,401 kg) Burnelli CB-27 Aigaion bombload up to 89,000 lb (40,370 kg) Nakajima B-10 (Ki-96) 19,841 lbs (9000 kg) Heinkel He177 13,227 lbs (6,000 kg) Consolidated B-32 Dominator 20,000 lbs (9071 kg) Boeing B-29 Superfortress 20,000 lbs (9071 kg...

RAN 1945+ catalog

I get the character issue and I agree it makes them look unique. However I noticed you have used some of my own "parts" for the drawing with perhaps not as much understanding of what's actually drawn. The most obvious to me is the splinter shield deck aft of B turret, on Atlantean destroyers of the area it protrudes out over the next deck below and is flush to the hull hence the "X" bracing support. Later Atlantean destroyers (though I have no current drawings posted to show it) have this area p...

1940s IJN designs

Hate to add to the negatives but I have to agree, its not really worth the refit and IMO actually reduces their combat effectiveness even as old as they are. You could spend as much on a small carrier or spend as much tonnage as one of these conversions on helicopter decks on various ships. The real reason the historical IJN did so many scout plane conversions was because they relied on them to find the enemy much in the way the Americans used radar so having large numbers on their fighting ship...

RAN 1945+ catalog

Switching from five singles to three twins will save a lot of deck space while adding a gun, that seems like a very worthwhile refit to me.

Commonwealth Adjustment

I'm with Bruce, however Australia, New Zealand and Britain deal with their ships/transfers is their business. Quoted from "ShinRa_Inc" The comment is directed less towards her aesthetic appeal, and more to the conundrum of both ships coexisting; the RAN has retired it's WWI era ships, and the RCN is eyeing the retirement of it's own contemporary WWI battle cruisers, surely such discussions are happening in the Lantean admiralty. Well seeing as you mention it, yes Atlantis is looking at the prosp...

Commonwealth Adjustment

Quoted from "ShinRa_Inc" To be fair, your Vengeance is pretty long-in-tooth by now.... No ones ever made that comment when referencing Warspite or Hood's looks. In Warspites case she was quite long in the tooth.

As long as NATO doesn't have an all members exercise Vengeance seems good but we all know which country has the more graceful looking "Vengeance" ;-)

Commonwealth Adjustment

I'd agree to converting the type 2 and 3 slips to dry dock's and Cockatoo island. As Hood said, there would be little change in what's already been built there and little benefit in 5 sim years time.

The RCN still exists

At first glance Viscount Byng would make a half decent platform but her age might be an issue. I've thought about converting the Training carrier Sibony into a test ship for ballistic and "cruise" missiles, her flat top is ideal but her age is a bit of a concern. It does make her expendable though.
