Yugoslav News and Events 1949

Hospodarske noviny (Prague), Friday, 18 February 1949 The town of Vlore, the Italian Balkan exclave tucked in between Yugoslavia and Greece was once a prosperous outpost of Italian culture in what has always been a fractious border region. Yet the continuing dispute between Italy and its neighbours have seen Vlore cut off from commercial contact save by sea, and this, combined with the worrying economic and political woes of Italy as a whole, have seen a contraction in the town’s economic life. ...

RE: Ohai

Quoted from "TheCanadian" Friends, don't go to school it sucks your life away. I'm not back back, just checking in to see how everyone is doing! Life is very busy. I am still in Toronto, I work for this small government agency now called the Canada Revenue Agency. I do hope to return to the sim though this summer when life isn't so hectic. TheCanadian Great to hear from you! Hope things work out.

Commonwealth Adjustment

Quoted from "Hood" I would agree, its the better fit dimensionally and has the better performance. It lacks a radar but the RANAS still has the radar-equipped Bathurst scout variant which could be used for scouting thus allowing the Skyraiders to concentrate on the strike role. So I think I will go with the Skyraider. Radar pods are an option for the Skyraider, or, if you are looking for an fleet radar picket, there were dedicated Skyraiders in that role.

Preliminary Profile - Empresa Nacional de Aviación T-27 Tapaculo Advanced Training Aircraft

Quoted from "Brockpaine" What bomb damage? I don't think any of the combatants actually bombed Peru's (small) aero industry. I vaguely recall a news item about Peru's aircraft factory being 'blitzed' at some point. Afraid I can recall the exact details. I may of course be off base.

Preliminary Profile - Empresa Nacional de Aviación T-27 Tapaculo Advanced Training Aircraft

Quoted from "Hood" Looks good. I guess Peru could have brought similar designs easily enough, but for building up a home industry this is a good starter alongside ENA's civil designs. Combination of factors - I don't like buying from myself if I can avoid it; those countries actively exporting kit have shown little interest in the Peruvian market (for one reason or others); and Peru is still trying to rebuild its aero industry after all the bomb damage inflicted during the Andean War.

British Empire News 1949

Quoted from "Hood" Who mentioned kidnap? ;) Interpol could be brought into play, not just for espionage but perhaps tax irregularities, smuggling antiquities etc. If Schrod was traced, then a formal request for extradition would be made. Of course Germany would refuse and that would be proof enough in London circles that he was indeed involved in Abwehr activities. His name and photo have probably featured in newspaper coverage of the case so his cover is blown as an agent anyway. Perhaps you c...
