Helicopter Trials

The Dutch Luchtmacht is seeking entrants for a competitive fly-off evaluation for two types of rotary-wing helicopters. The first is a small helicopter suitable for observation duties carrying a crew of at least two and possibly, but not necessarily, also having room for up to two passengers. The second type is a larger helicopter capable of carrying troops or cargo, at least six soldiers must be carried along with their equipment and personal weapons. Both types must be suitable for field opera...

What is likely layout of the gun arrangement? Trying to envision where you can squeeze four twin 75mm mounts (2 beam and 2 centre), four 20mm quads and four MG twins as well as two sextuple racks of torpedoes (not to mention a couple of A/S mortars to boot!).

A Conspiracy at the Barley Row? Aston Talks Unlike the rest of his accomplices, most of which he’d never met or even knew of, Aston was still cooling his heels in the small room in the mansion in Surrey. It wasn’t quite a prison cell but it was still drab, draughty and uncomfortable. His future looked bleak, at best he’d be tried for spying and would probably get ten or twenty years, at worst he’d be tried for treason and hung. His only hopes were that the government would seek to avoid a trial ...

OOC: the fact China is no longer an LoN member makes the proposal problematic. There is no way to enforce whatever arbitration decision is made and no reason for China to accept the arbitration at all. Saying that, the LoN is the only international diplomatic body in Wesworld. I hadn't thought about the Eight-Nation Alliance, but I would add to Brock's recommendations for Britain that in recent years, despite tensions, they have entered into diplomatic talks with China over Weihai and maritime a...

IC the British would not say much at this stage, their inclusion on the list of possible arbitration members would preclude any public judgement as to blame from London on the matter. The old Dutch government would echo the last part of the Philippine Government's statement but does worry privately about Russia's heavy handed approach. The Belgians find it an interesting distraction in the newspapers but no official response is likely. The Argentines have some sympathy with China, having had the...

A Conspiracy at the Barley Row? Tony Talks Michael Braithwaite and Special Branch Detective Inspector Grice were still deep into the interrogation of Tony Palmer. He maintained he was a courier, recruited by the nameless “posh southern git”. When Henry telephoned in his report from Warrington, Michael immediately suspected the antiques dealer could be the man, but it was flimsy and with so little to go on there was little option but to pursue what meagre leads they had and keep plugging away at ...

A Conspiracy at the Barley Row? The Reverend and the Landlord Although the case was in the hands of the ‘Inquisitors’, Michael Braithwaite still remained the case officer. The Liverpool office wanted Tom Measure and Henry Golding back for other work, but Michael still needed their diligent footwork and both men were now deeply involved in an interesting case and didn’t want to leave. The case had by now caught the attention of the very top level at Whitehall. The head of MI5 was keeping a keen e...
